Normal service will resume soon, but Macro man is still pressed for time ce soir. It's been a fairly interesting week's trading, as it appears that markets have trimmed risk across the board ahead of Wednesday's Fed minutes release. How else to describe the 10 SD decline in equities (though not, of course, to the degree that they move 1% in a day!), the fall in the dollar, the recovery in fixed income, etc.
Meanwhile, the World Cup threw up the biggest shocker since Ralph Cioffi rang to ask for a bid in a few of his subprime turds in July 2007. Given the frosty reception that Fred received upon leaving the pitch, Macro Man would be surprised if he ever plays for Brazil again. Fortunately, there are a few potential replacements in the offing, and on an exclusive basis Macro Man can share a scouting video of one of them, Gus. Note the blistering left-footed rocket in the video!

ReplyEWZ vols at +26% trading 4 s.ds above EEM or 3.5 sds vs EWW on 5yr time frame..... Short ewz gamma sep sounds initially risky though 11.5v spread vs EEM and expiry before election catalyst seems a good risk reward.
there are quite a few funnies made regarding the brazil loss
