Given the ongoing obsession with the US housing market, Macro Man thought it would be fun to have a quiz on housing. List the following 10 markets in order of least to most affordable housing (as defined by median house price/ median household income.) Anyone getting all 10 correct wins a Macro Man T-shirt (or, should such T shirts not exist, Macro Man's eternal respect.)
* Auckland (New Zealand)
* Chicago (USA)
* Dallas/Ft. Worth (USA)
* Dublin (Ireland)
* Liverpool (UK)
* London Metro (UK)
* New York Metro (USA)
* Perth (Australia)
* Sydney (Australia)
* Vancouver (Canada)

Click here for commentswould guess dublin, although liverpool must be up there.
Replyaffordability in the uk is now ridiculous. living here, it seems to me that it'll soon be time to move to the US, as general prices (both goods and property) are so much less there than the uk.
the next slowdown in the uk economy is going to crush housing, it is easy to see that a few good years have encouraged people to leverage and speculate in property, with the good ol' british assumption that property never goes down.
My semi-to-un-educated guess would be...
