It’s imperative that one
should learn to recognize and navigate through the potholes and avoid pitfalls
that often appear in this arduous path of macro trading.
One key lesson I’ve
taken away from the macro world is not simply to take note of economic releases
or events for tomorrow, next week or the week after. Identifying what will
happen in the future and imagining their various outcomes and consequences
should affect our investment decisions today. Solving this four dimensional
puzzle in this complex yet intriguing domain is largely difficult to begin
with.
As a starting point, my
approach towards macro trading is to focus on the economics. With that said,
I’d also like to contribute by opportunistically pointing out tactical ideas as
a hedge or risk position on top of the thematic book.
Hence, I’ve decided to
write my first post to identify some of the key events we’ll be going through
in 2017 and hopefully, this serves as a guide for you in reducing or adding
risk to your portfolio to avoid or capitalize on the potential volatility on
asset prices.
Please feel free to
point out additional events that I should include in the link below and i’ll
promptly edit it.
Also, i’d like to thank
Macro Man for on boarding me to TMM 2.0 and I look forward to contribute to the
community.
